Our School Home Zone

All students who live within the home zone as described below shall be entitled to enrol at Waipahihi School:
A triangular area with the Western boundary along the lake-edge from 122 Mahuta Road,  5 Mile Bay, and including all streets off both sides of State Highway 1, North to the Intersection of  State Highway 5 (Napier Taupo Highway) then extending 11km up the southern side of State Highway 5 to the start of the Opepe Forest, the last rural property being Rapid Number 1142.  The third side of the triangle is a straight line back across the farmland and forest to the Southern-most point on Mahuta Road.

Out of Zone Enrolments
During the year, as part of its governance role, the Board of Trustees considers the overall number of students enrolled at the school, the known number of new children starting, and the possible implication of any school zone development. They then take this information, consider it alongside the capacity of our current classroom space, and attempt to make an informed decision about what our school needs to sustain its funding and staffing entitlements whilst not overcrowding the current classroom space. In short, this is a complicated business and means that there is no consistent pattern to our school advertising any out of zone placements. Unless you see an advertisement in the local paper then our school has no current out of zone places available.
